The Apprentice
Where the handle gets real.
Here is the book
What is The Apprentice?
The Apprentice is for players 11 to 13 — old enough for the harder moves, young enough that the foundation still matters most. The harder moves cut from Book 1 make their first appearance here.
- Change of pace, hesitations, combination moves
- Finishing with a Euro step, floater, and contact prep
- Shot creation: off movement, hand-offs, pull-ups
- Combo chains, timed reads, and game integration
The harder moves cut from Book 1 make their first appearance here — this is where the handle gets real.
Why this stage matters
Why The Apprentice is important
Between 11 and 13, bodies grow fast and coordination catches up — and competition starts to matter: middle school teams, AAU, real tryouts.
Players who rely on being early growers stall out. Players who build a real skill base here — change of pace, combo moves, finishing through contact — are the ones who separate when everyone else catches up physically.
What this book guarantees
What you're guaranteed to get
- A real curriculum — Book → Chapter → Phase → Workout — not a pile of random drills.
- A starting point based on your assessment, not a guess: Questionnaire → assessment video → film review → player profile → personalized curriculum.
- Measurable progression — Phase 4 of every chapter is test & review week. You move up when you earn it.
- Weekly check-ins to keep training on track.
- Moves introduced when players are ready for them — nothing skipped, nothing rushed.
